Ivar is named after Ivar Petur Hauksson, a leading figure in Icelandic computer society. He is the author of such immortal wisdom as: "If DOS 5.0 is a respectable middle-aged gentleman, then System 7 is a dumb blonde who slept with all the judges to win the beauty contest", "Software is like potatos" and, when reviewing a Windows program that has been available for DOS and the Mac for years: "It is clear that all things new and exiting are happening in Windows"
